Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a curtain airbag device capable of preventing damage during cushion deployment to pillar garnish covering a front pillar from the vehicle interior side. [Solution] This curtain airbag device 100 is equipped with: a gas supply path 134 which extends in the vehicle longitudinal direction at the top end of the interior of a cushion 104 when deployed and circulates gas forward in the vehicle longitudinal direction; a first chamber 136 which is provided at the front end of the gas supply path so as to communicate with the gas supply path through a first gas introduction port 142 having a breadth equivalent to the vertical size of the gas supply path, and is at least partially accommodated between the front pillar 116 and the pillar garnish 124; a second chamber 144 which is located below the gas supply path and is provided so as to communicate with the gas supply path through a second gas introduction port 150 having a breadth greater than the first gas introduction port; and a temporary sewn portion 146 which is sewn so as to reduce the breadth of the second gas introduction port and is cut by the gas flowing through the second gas introduction port into the second chamber.
