Abstract:
This embodiment of the invention is directed toward a cutting insert having a first end face, a second end face disposed to face the first end face, and a circumferential side face that extends between the first end face and the second end face. At least one cutting edge section is formed on the intersecting ridge portion of the first end face and the circumferential side face. The cutting edge section includes a main cutting edge, a wiper cutting edge, and a corner cutting edge that joins the same. When the face extending between the first end face and the second end face of the cutting insert is defined as an intermediate face, at least a portion of the wiper cutting edge has a curved form on the intermediate face side, in a side view.
