Abstract:
A cylindrical battery (10) comprises: a wound electrode body (14) having a hollow section (14a) extending in the axial direction; and collector plates (18,19), each collector plate including a protrusion (56, 66) having an apex (56a, 66a) accommodated in the hollow section (14a), and a groove part (57, 67) provided integrally with the protrusion (56, 66) on the outside in the radial direction of the protrusion (56, 66) so as to define a groove (57a, 67a), the collector plates being provided more toward the outside in the axial direction than the electrode body (14). In a core body of at least one of a positive electrode (11) and a negative electrode (12), a core body exposed portion (31, 41) in which a mixture layer is not provided is joined to a core body joining portion (an upper surface (51b) of a ridge part (51a), and a lower surface (61c) of a ridge part (61a)) of the collector plate (18, 19). The core body joining portion includes an opposing part (61d) that radially opposes an integral structure (52, 62) comprising the protrusion (56, 66) and the groove part (57, 67).
