Abstract:
A washing machine is disclosed. A processor included in the disclosed washing machine: controls a motor by using power during at least a partial interval having a shorter duration among a transient interval and a normal interval such that an elastic member has a first inner diameter; prevents supply of power to the motor to reduce the amount of power used by the motor during the normal interval; and controls the motor such that the elastic member changes from the first inner diameter to a second inner diameter different from the first inner diameter by a restorative elastic force.
