Abstract:
The present invention provides a damping stopper which can be used not only in a mechanism in which a housing and a shaft are displaced axially relative to each other but also in a mechanism in which a housing and a shaft are displaced axially relative to each other and are rotated relative to each other. Provided is a damping stopper mounted in the space between an end surface which is provided on a housing and an end surface provided on a shaft which is displaced axially relative to the housing and is rotated relative to the housing. The damping stopper has a metallic fitting which is held on one of the end surfaces, an elastic body which is connected to the metallic fitting, and a sliding member which is connected to the elastic body. The sliding member is in contact with the other end surface so as to be capable of moving away therefrom, and when the shaft is rotated while the sliding member is in contact with the other end surface, the sliding member can slide and rotate on the other end surface. The sliding member consists of a resin part.
