Abstract:
In the present invention, data of a plurality of tables is compressed and is preserved in a form in which integrated use of each table is easy. The rank of an entry of a VL, in which entry the value of an nth record of a table (a1, b1) is recorded, is recorded in an nth entry of a VL of an index of an index set (a2, b2). When the index set (b2) of a table B is integrated into an integrated index (a3), a value that is not included in a VL of the integrated index (a3), said value being among values included in a VL of an index, is additionally recorded (b3) in the VL of the integrated index. Additionally, a value indicating the rank of an entry of the VL of the integrated index is additionally recorded (b3) in a VNo of the integrated index, in which entry a value j that is recorded in an entry VLE(k) of a VL of an index is recorded, the rank of said entry VLE(k) being a value k that is stored in an entry VNoE(i) of a VNo of said index.
