Abstract:

A mask which is used for divided recording that completes an image with a plurality of scanning operations by using a plurality of different colors of ink, and which can prevent the occurrence of grains in the middle of recording and reduce image deterioration due to beading. When a recording allowable pixel D₀, for example, provides the largest total of repulsive potential among respective recording allowable pixels in each of which a total of repulsive potential is calculated, a change in repulsive potential before and after its moving is determined and the recording allowable pixel D₀is moved to a pixel that provides the smallest total of repulsive potential before and after the moving. A repetition of such processes can reduce the total energy of entire planes, and a recording allowable pixel distribution when masks of respective planes are stacked is disposed so as to be distributed favorably with a small number of low frequency components.
