Abstract:
A method for determining, by use of less information bits, a communication apparatus
that is recognized by a nearby communication apparatus in an ad hock network.
Each of a mobile device and a cradle incorporates a UWB radio apparatus. While
the mobile device is housed in the cradle, the antennas of the UWB radio apparatuses
are fixed in such attitudes that their directivities of electromagnetic wave
face each other and in such a manner that they are in a very close range independent
of the surrounding environment. When the mobile device is housed into the cradle
and then the distance-measuring functions of the UWB radio apparatuses are used
to determine that the apparatuses enter into a predetermined distance range,
an operation of wireless data transmission is initiated, thereby achieving
a high-rate, high-quality transmission.
