Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/020914
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A high-strength austenitic stainless-steel wire having excellent cold workability, characterized by having a chemical composition comprising up to 0.08 mass% C, 0.05-1.0 mass% Si, 0.20-2.0 mass% Mn, up to 0.045 mass% P, up to 0.030 mass% S, 8.0-11.0 mass% Ni, 17.0-20.0 mass% Cr, 1.00-4.00 mass% Cu, and Fe and unavoidable impurities as the remainder. It is further characterized by being obtained from an austenitic stainless-steel wire which has undergone finishing with solution treatment after wire drawing or skin-pass finishing with solution treatment after wire drawing as a raw wire by subjecting it to cold wire drawing so as to result in a total reduction of area (R) of 15-80%. Also provided is a molded article of the stainless-steel wire, such as a screw.
