Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a data transmission method and apparatus, which can be applied to the technical field of communications. The method executed by a first node comprises: determining information about small data transmission (SDT) that needs to be sent and/or received, wherein the information comprises data and/or signaling, and the first node is a node that cannot determine whether a terminal device in a non-connected state is within the coverage range thereof, or a node that cannot directly receive/transmit uplink and downlink information from/to the terminal device in the non-connected state (S51); and sending a first message to a second node, wherein the first message comprises first information related to the SDT of the terminal device in the non-connected state, and the first information is used for instructing the second node to send and/or receive the information about the SDT according to the first information after receiving a first request message of the terminal device (S52). Thus, the first node can accurately receive/transmit the information about the SDT from/to the terminal device in the non-connected state, so that transmission failure and resource waste can be avoided.
