Abstract:
A database device according to one embodiment is provided with the following: a volatile first storage unit; a non-volatile second storage unit; an access processing unit that executes processes in accordance with access requests for blocks into which a data set has been partitioned; a backup processing unit that writes data from each block from various backup time points to the second storage unit; and a block management unit. If a given condition is satisfied, the block management unit: writes data from one of the blocks stored in the first storage unit to the second storage unit; and reads, from the second storage unit to the first storage unit, data from a block for which an access request was made. The backup processing unit writes data from blocks that have not yet been written to the second storage unit.
