Abstract:

This DC circuit breaker (1) cuts off DC current flowing in a DC line (2). The DC circuit breaker (1) is provided with: a fault current breaker unit (3), which is a first breaker unit, and a load current breaker unit (4), which is a second breaker unit, connected in series with each other; a capacitor (5) and a reactor (6) which are connected in parallel with the fault current breaker unit (3) and the load current breaker unit (4). When a fault occurs in the DC line (2), the fault current breaker unit (3) performs an opening operation in accordance with a command inputted to the fault current breaker unit (3). During steady-state operation in which DC current flows to a load connected to the DC line (2), the load current breaker unit (4) performs an opening operation in accordance with a command inputted to the load current breaker unit (4).
