Abstract:
A demand prediction device (4) comprises: a data acquisition unit (21) that acquires demand data indicating a temporal change in a past demand for a product the demand for which is to be predicted, and index candidate data indicating a respective plurality of indexes which are candidates for indexes related to the past demand; a relevance calculation unit (23) that calculates the relevance between an index which is indicated by each of the index candidate data acquired by the data acquisition unit (21) and the demand which is indicated by the demand data acquired by the data acquisition unit (21); an index data extraction unit (24) that, on the basis of the relevance calculated by the relevance calculation unit (23), extracts, from among the plurality of index candidate data acquired by the data acquisition unit (21), index data for use in demand prediction processing for predicting a future demand for the product; and a demand prediction unit (27) that uses the index data extracted by the index data extraction unit (24) to perform demand prediction processing.
