This detection rule output method outputs a detection rule to be used in a security system that determines attack contents on the basis of vehicle log information, wherein: vehicle configuration information relating to the configuration of an in-vehicle network incorporated in the vehicle, IDS information relating to one or more Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) incorporated in the vehicle, and information about an attack to be detected relating to an attack to be detected in the vehicle are acquired (S10-S30); and a detection rule is output to a storage device provided to the security system, the detection rule being generated on the basis of the vehicle configuration information, the IDS information, and the information about an attack to be detected, and being for the purpose of detecting a location in the vehicle at which an anomaly occurred and the anomaly occurring at said location (S50).
