Abstract:
This determination device comprises: a control unit that controls transmission of electromagnetic waves directed to a metamaterial provided on an object, and reception of electromagnetic waves transmitted through the metamaterial or reflected by the metamaterial; and a determination unit that determines the state of the object on the basis of reference data and acquired data obtained from the received electromagnetic waves. The metamaterial is configured so as to include a plurality of structures such that the frequency characteristics of transmission or reflection with respect to the electromagnetic waves change depending on the state of the object. The state of the object includes at least a temperature state and/or a moisture state.
