Abstract:
This device for driving an opening/closing body for a vehicle is provided with: an opening/closing body drive unit (21) for opening an opening/closing body capable of opening toward the outside of a vehicle (1) about a rotating shaft set into the vehicle; a physical object detection unit (17) for detecting without contact the presence/absence of physical objects in a predetermined space set on the vehicle-outer side of the opening/closing body and on the free-end side of the opening/closing body, the physical object detection unit being provided to the opening/closing body; and an instruction unit (31B) for instructing the opening/closing body drive unit to start and stop opening the opening/closing body in accordance with the detection results of the physical object detection unit.
