Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to achieve inundation detection which does not require a retrofitted module and in which optical loss does not occur. The present disclosure is a device that measures the forward Brillouin scattering of the subject optical-fiber-to-be-measured, and that detects inundation of the optical-fiber-to-be-measured, on the basis of characteristics near the peak of the forward Brillouin scattering.
