Abstract:
This document relates to an electronic device and method for providing a user interface for controlling a registered external device. The electronic device: establishes a communication connection with a mobile electronic device; scans external devices connectable through wireless communication; when a topographical map generated by scanning while the mobile electronic device is moving and information about the scanned external devices are received, matches external devices scanned by the mobile electronic device with the external devices connectable through the wireless communication; registers external devices for which matching was successful; and displays, on a screen, a list of the registered external devices and a user interface for controlling each of the registered external devices.
