An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device comprises: a battery of less than a critical capacity; a memory for storing information about a changed voltage value of the battery according to the elapse of unit time after charging of the battery starts; and a processor for identifying the initial voltage value of the battery when charging of the battery starts, identifying, on the basis of the information stored in the memory and the initial voltage value, when the unit time elapses after charging of the battery starts, the changed voltage value of the battery corresponding to a time point at which the unit time has elapsed, and identifying the current charged amount of the battery on the basis of the identified changed voltage value.
