Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, an operation method performed by a center unit-control plane (CU-CP) of a candidate base station may comprise the steps of: transmitting a first message for a bearer context setup request to a CU-user plane (UP) of the candidate base station, the first message including information for indicating a conditional handover that is a handover performed by user equipment (UE) when at least one execution condition is satisfied; and receiving, from the CU-UP, a second message for a bearer context setup response.
