Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a dialysis apparatus that is capable of sufficiently removing indoxyl sulfate from blood. Provided is a dialysis apparatus including: a first channel (20, 40, 60, 80, 100) through which blood (22) removed from a human body (10) flows; a blood pump (30) that is provided in the first channel and that feeds the blood; a dialyzer (70) that is provided on the downstream side of the blood pump (30) and that purifies the blood supplied from the first channel by means of a replacement fluid; and a second channel (111) that joins the first channel downstream of the blood pump (30) and upstream of the dialyzer (70) and that supplies the replacement fluid to the first channel. The cross-sectional area of the first channel (60) farther downstream than a joining point (50) of the first and second channels is greater than the cross-sectional area of the first channel (40) farther upstream than the joining point (50).
