Abstract:
This display device comprises: a display panel that transmits all or a portion of light from one surface side to the other surface side thereof; and an illumination device that is provided to the one surface side of the display panel, wherein the illumination device comprises a light source that produces light and a light guiding member that is light-transmissive, the display panel-facing position of said light guiding member in a first direction corresponding to the position of the light source, the light guiding member has a hole that opens in the first direction and has the light source positioned inside thereof and a light guiding section that surrounds the periphery of the hole, and a first slanted surface that is slanted with regard to the first direction and a plane orthogonally intersecting the first direction is formed on the one surface side of the light guiding section.
