Abstract:
A display device pertaining to an embodiment is provided with: a display panel having a display area for displaying an image; multiple light sources for emitting light for displaying the image in the display area; and a control unit for causing respective light sources corresponding to multiple divided regions of the display area to emit light in sequence for each region. The control unit, during one frame period of the image being displayed in the display area, causes a light source corresponding to a region of the multiple regions that is specified on the basis of the image to repeatedly emit light.
