Abstract:
The present invention provides an internal-compensation-type and current-drive-type display device capable of carrying out suitable threshold compensation for a drive transistor without reducing display quality and causing a decrease in production yield, and of improving the display luminance while maintaining a drive voltage. A pixel circuit 15 in the display device includes a first and a second drive transistor M1a, M1b with gate terminals that are mutually connected and connected to a retention capacitor Cs. During a data writing period, the voltage of a corresponding data signal line Dj is written in the retention capacitor Cs through the first drive transistor M1a having a diode-connected configuration by a threshold compensation transistor M3, thus allowing data writing to be performed with threshold compensation. During a light emission period, a current that matches the sum of currents I1, I2 flowing through the first and second drive transistors M1a, M1b in accordance with the retention voltage of the retention capacitor Cs is supplied to an organic EL element OL as a drive current Id.
