Abstract:
A display device includes a light emission type display device (26) capable of modifying the display luminance, illuminance detection means (18) for outputting a detection value x based on the illuminance as a detection signal X, and a microcomputer (20) for calculating a control signal Y based on the detection value x. The microcomputer (20) executes a judgment process (steps S1 to S5) to determine whether the change of the detection value x generated by the illuminance detection means (18) is a value change generated suddenly in a short time and temporarily. Only when the judgment result shows that the detection value x is not a sudden value change, a target luminance value y is calculated according to the detection value x. The control signal Y based on this target luminance value y is output to a light emitting element (5) so as to reduce flicker, thereby providing a display device having a preferable visuality.
