Abstract:
This display device is provided with: a film that is light-transmissive and to which an image (I) has been printed; a light source that radiates light to the film from the reverse surface side; an image formation optical element (micro-mirror array) having a panel shape; and a case or the like that houses the film. The image formation optical element is provided to the top surface of the case, and below the image formation optical element is disposed a film holder that holds the film in a state of being inclined by a predetermined angle (α) with respect to the bottom surface of the image formation optical element. Consequently, by means of light projected from the light source, transmitted through the film, and passing through the image formation optical element, a projection image (spatial image (I')) of the image (I) on the film is formed in a state of floating up from the outer surface of the image formation optical element.
