Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a disposable diaper in which an absorbent body changes in shape in accordance with the movement of a wearer, and which thus has excellent fit and wearability, without excessively increasing the rigidity of the absorbent body. [Solution] An absorbent element is provided between a liquid-permeable top sheet and a liquid-impermeable back sheet. The absorbent element is formed by an absorbent body which absorbs excreta and a packaging sheet which covers the outer periphery of the absorbent body. Circular compressed sections, which each have no linear part and no corner part, and elliptical compressed sections, which each have no linear part and no corner part, are provided on the body side of the absorbent element. First circular compressed sections among the circular compressed sections are provided at prescribed intervals in the width direction and the front-rear direction. Second circular compressed sections among the circular compressed sections are provided at the prescribed intervals in the width direction and the front-rear direction and positioned so as to be offset from the first circular compressed sections by half the prescribed intervals in the width direction and the front-rear direction. First elliptical compressed sections among the elliptical compressed sections are provided at the center between second circular compressed sections which are adjacent to each other in the width direction and between first circular compressed sections which are adjacent to each other in the width direction, with the major axis of each first elliptical compressed section extending in the width direction. Second elliptical compressed sections among the elliptical compressed sections are respectively provided at the center between a first circular compressed section and a second circular compressed section adjacent to said first circular compressed section in the width direction and the front-rear direction, with the major axis of each second elliptical compressed section extending along an imaginary line connecting said first circular compressed section and said second circular compressed section.
