Abstract:
Provided is a door opening/closing mechanism which can be easily installed in existing lavatory units for aircrafts, and which is advantageous for facilitating prevention of new coronavirus infection in an aircraft. An electric-powered door opening/closing mechanism 34 is provided which causes a door 20 to move from a blocking position to an open position. The electric-powered door opening/closing mechanism 34 is provided with non‐contact sensors 36 that are provided at the inside and the outside of a lavatory 1002 and detect a portion of a human body; an engagement counterpart member 40 that is provided to the door 20 and extends above the door 20; an engaging member 42 that is provided inside the lavatory 1002 at a position above the door 20, that is capable of engaging, from the door 20 side, with the engagement counterpart member 40 from the blocking position of the door 20 to the open position of the door 20, and that is open in a direction away from the door 20; and an actuator 44 that causes the engaging member 42 to move in a direction away from a doorway 1212 in accordance with detection signals from the non‐contact sensors 36, and causes the door 20 to move from the blocking position to the open position by means of the engagement counterpart member 40.
