Abstract:
Provided is a door opening and closing mechanism for an entrance of an aircraft lavatory unit advantageous in suppressing malfunction of a door and increasing convenience of use of a lavatory while preventing infection with COVID-19 in the aircraft. A power door opening mechanism 34 comprises a room-outside non-contact sensor 36A which is provided outside a lavatory 1002 and detects, in a non-contact manner, a motion of a person placing the hand, a human sensor 38 which detects existence of a person inside the lavatory 1002, an actuator 44 which moves a door 20, and a control unit 48 which controls the actuator 44. The control unit 38 moves the door 20 from a closed position to an open position by the actuator 44 when the detection by the room-outside non-contact sensor 36A is confirmed in a state in which the detection by the human sensor 38 is not confirmed.
