Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide modified fibroin fibers that exhibit less contraction upon contact with water, and a method for manufacturing the same. The modified fibroin fibers according to the present invention are manufactured using a dope containing modified fibroins, a water-resistance-imparting substance, and a solvent. Also provided is a method for manufacturing a modified fibroin compact, the method including a step for molding using the dope. Also provided is a method for manufacturing modified fibroin fibers, the method including a step for extruding the dope into a solidification liquid, and forming undrawn modified fibroin fibers in the solidification liquid. The fibers contain modified fibroins and the water-resistance-imparting substance.
