Abstract:
A drive device for an electric motor according to the present invention has: a first relay that turns a power supply line from a power source to the electric motor on and off; a resistor provided to a bypass line that bypasses the first relay; a second relay that turns the bypass line on and off; a relay control circuit that outputs a common relay control signal to the first relay and the second relay; and a delay unit that delays the on timing of the first relay based on the relay control signal more than the on timing of the second relay based on the relay control signal. It is thereby possible to add a function for suppressing inrush current without increasing the number of output connectors of the relay control circuit.
