Abstract:
Provided are a driving assistance device and a computer program that make it possible to generate, as a recommended vehicle travel path, a travel path on which abrupt turns and deceleration when travelling on a curved segment are suppressed. Specifically, the present invention is configured so that: a planned travel route to be traveled by a vehicle is acquired; if, in particular, the planned travel route that was acquired includes a curve, using map information that includes information relating to demarcation lines, a transit point is set between a demarcation line on the inner side of the curve and coordinate points arranged along the center line of a lane on which vehicle travel is planned, the transit point being set for a curved segment which is a segment that includes the curve; a travel path that passes through the transit point is generated for the curved segment as a recommended vehicle travel path; and driving assistance for the vehicle is performed on the basis of the generated travel path.
