Abstract:
Provided are a driving assistance device and a computer program which make it possible to generate, as a recommended travel track for a vehicle to travel, a travel track on which overturning or a sudden decrease in speed is suppressed when the vehicle travels through a curved segment that includes a plurality of consecutive curves. Specifically, the driving assistance device is configured to: acquire a planned travel path on which the vehicle travels; when, in particular, the acquired planned travel path includes a plurality of consecutive curves, use map information including information pertaining to section lines to target a curved section including a plurality of curves and set a plurality of curve connection points; target the curved segment and combine a first half travel track from a start vector to a connection point and a second half travel track from the connection point to an end vector to generate a recommended travel track for the vehicle to travel; and assist in driving the vehicle on the basis of the generated travel track.
