Abstract:
A driving assistance device (14) has: a first condition recognition unit (36) that acquires, as an essential information source, position information of a vehicle and behavior information of the vehicle and recognizes an essential condition for the vehicle on the basis of the essential information source; a second condition recognition unit (36, 40, 42) that acquires an arbitrarily defined information source on the basis of image information relating to the surroundings of the vehicle and/or inside a vehicle cabin and recognizes a driving condition of the vehicle on the basis of the essential information source and the arbitrarily defined information source; a determination unit (40) that analyzes a recognition result by the first condition recognition unit or a recognition result by the second condition recognition unit and determines the presence/absence of a risk event which can occur during traveling of the vehicle; and a notification unit (50) that, when the determination result by the determination unit has indicated that the risk event is present, notifies at least a driver who is driving the vehicle of advice for eliminating the risk event.
