A driving support device (14) includes: a status recognizing unit (36) for acquiring, as an information source, position information relating to a vehicle, behavior information relating to the vehicle, and image information relating to the periphery of the vehicle and a vehicle interior, and for recognizing a status of the vehicle on the basis of the information source; a determining unit (38, 40) for determining the presence or absence of a risk event that may occur while the vehicle is traveling, by analyzing the recognition result obtained by the status recognizing unit; and a reporting unit (50) which, if the determining unit has determined that there is a risk event, notifies at least a driver, driving the vehicle, of advice for eliminating the risk event.
