Abstract:
A driving assistance device (9), which provides information related to driving for a diver if route navigation is being provided by a navigation device (7) for a vehicle, is provided with a distance assessment unit (S110), a state assessment unit (S140) and a warning control unit (S150). The distance assessment unit, if the vehicle is traveling on a highway or a motorway, assesses whether the vehicle is positioned within a predetermined distance (A) from a rest area or a target interchange which is positioned in the middle of a route guided by the route navigation. The state assessment unit assesses whether the driver is in a sleepy state or a tired state. The warning control unit, if an assessment is made by the distance assessment unit that the vehicle is positioned within the predetermined distance (A), and an assessment is made by the state assessment unit (S140) that the driver is in a sleepy state or a tired state, performs a warning recommending rest for the driver.
