Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device capable of suppressing a lateral mode and high-order modes. An elastic wave device 1 according to the present invention is provided with a piezoelectric substrate 2 and an IDT electrode 7. The IDT electrode 7 has a central region C and first and second edge regions E1, E2. First and second extended edge regions Ex1, Ex2 respectively include the first and second edge regions E1, E2 and overlap the respective edge regions in an elastic wave propagation direction. First and second acoustic velocity adjusting portions L, M in which the acoustic velocity is lower than in the central region C are provided in the first and second extended edge regions Ex1, Ex2. The first acoustic velocity adjusting portion L includes first and second ends La, Lb, and the second acoustic velocity adjusting portion M includes third and fourth ends Ma, Mb. The first to fourth ends La to Mb are positioned outside the first and second edge regions E1, E2. At least one of the two pairs of the first and third ends La, Ma and the second and fourth ends Lb, Mb does not overlap in a direction in which a plurality of electrode fingers extend.
