Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device that allows excellent resonance characteristics to be obtained. An elastic wave device according to the present invention is connected between first and second signal terminals 12A, 12B of a filter apparatus 10 that has the first and second signal terminals 12A, 12B. Said elastic wave device is provided with: a support member; a piezoelectric layer 17 disposed on the support member, having an X axis, a Y axis, and a Z axis that are crystal axes, and comprising Z-cut lithium niobate; and an IDT electrode. The IDT electrode has a plurality of first and second electrode fingers. When the thickness of the piezoelectric layer 17 is defined as d, and a distance between the centers of adjacent first and second electrode fingers is defined as p, d/p is 0.5 or less. When a virtual line formed by connecting tips of the plurality of first electrode fingers is defined as an envelope, the extending direction of the envelope and the direction of the Y axis cross each other. If the angle degree that is of an angle formed by the extending direction of the envelope and the direction of the Y axis and that is other than 0° is defined as a slant angle α and if the absolute value of the slant angle α is defined as |α|, 9°≤|α|≤14° is satisfied.
