Abstract:
This driving device is provided with an inverter (30) that operates an electric motor capable of performing switching between star connection and delta connection, wherein when a current, detected by a winding current detection element (61u) that detects a current flowing through a winding, becomes excessive, the inverter (30) is stopped. Further, after removing a circulating current component at the time of delta connection from a winding current detected by the winding current detection element (61u), an inverter output current is calculated and the inverter is controlled using the calculated inverter output current. Since overcurrent protection is performed on the winding on the basis of a detection value of the winding current, demagnetization prevention can be performed even in consideration of a circulating current. In addition, the inverter control can be prevented from being affected by the circulating current in delta connection. Therefore, the number of current detection elements can be suppressed, and overcurrent protection and control can be performed appropriately.
