Abstract:

Provided is an electric power steering device capable of performing an abnormal case process in case of torque abnormality without being influenced by a torque abnormality signal and without giving the driver a sense of discomfort. A dual-detection configuration including a main-ECU clip (34) and a sub-ECU interlock (62) is adopted to detect abnormality in a steering assist command value. When abnormality in a steering torque (Ti) detected by a torque sensor (3) is detected, input values to the main-ECU clip (34) and the sub-ECU interlock (62) are switched from a steering torque (Ti) detected by the torque sensor (3) to a torque alternative value. The torque alternative value is a past torque value computed on the basis of a normal steering torque (Ti) detected by the torque sensor (3) in the absence of detection of the abnormality in the steering torque (Ti) by the torque sensor (3).
