Abstract:
An electron emitter, a field emission display unit, a cold cathode fluorescent tube and a flat type lighting device that use a low-cost, mass-producible electron emitting material. Myenite (calcium alminosilicate) type compound conductive powder, containing at least 50 mol% of either one kind of Myenite type compound, 12CaO·7Al2O3 or 12SrO·7Al2O3 , and having a maximum powder size of up to 100μm, is used as an electron emitter, whereby an electron emitter, a field emission display unit, and a cold cathode fluorescent tube are realized that are easy to produce, can emit electrons even at a low applied voltage, and can provide a large current on the same applied voltage surface.
