Abstract:
Provided is an electronic component having excellent moisture resistance. The present invention comprises an electronic component element 2 and a barrier layer 3 disposed on the outer side of the electronic component element 2. The barrier layer 3 has a clay layer 31 containing clay and a water-absorbing layer 32 containing a water-absorbing material. The water-absorbing layer 32 is provided between the electronic component element 2 and the clay layer 31. The clay layer 31 is preferred to further contain a binder 312. Mineral particles 311 contained in the clay are preferred to include sheet-shaped or flaky particles.
