Abstract:
Provided is a technology that makes it possible to write software that have different memory maps into the non-volatile memory of an electronic control device during the reprogramming of control software. An electronic control device that includes a microcomputer that includes a CPU and non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory includes startup software, control software, and validity verification information for verifying the validity of the control software. The validity verification information and the startup software are stored at different storage areas of the non-volatile memory.
