Abstract:
Provided is an electronic control unit which is capable of holding data generated during operation, even if an instantaneous power interruption occurs, and is capable of improving marketability and failure analysis capability. The electronic control unit comprises: a RAM used as a work area; a non-volatile memory for saving data; and a control unit that controls the reading and writing of data to the RAM and the non-volatile memory. The control unit is configured so as to control a control subject by causing data generated during operation to be stored in the RAM, causing the data to be written to a memory area of the non-volatile memory when operation stops, and reading the data from the non-volatile memory to the RAM when starting up. If an improper reset is predicted, the control unit writes, from the RAM, at least some of the data that was generated during operation to a saving area different from the memory area of the data in the non-volatile memory, and when operations are resumed from the improper reset, the data written to the memory area and the saving area are read into the RAM.
