Abstract:
Provided is a hemostatic material that can be safely manufactured by a simple method, that poses no risk of viral infection, and that is capable of coagulating blood even without Ca ions. This hemostatic material comprises: a first agent (1) that contains a gelatin derivative having bonded thereto a hydrophobic group via an imino group, wherein said gelatin derivative has (a) a weight average molecular weight of 10,000-50,000, (b) said hydrophobic group is an alkyl group having 6-18 carbon atoms, and (c) the molar ratio of imino groups/amino groups in the gelatin derivative is 1/99 to 30/70; and a second agent (2) that contains a crosslinking agent for the gelatin derivative.
