Abstract:
An embodiment of the present disclosure discloses an electronic device having a fingerprint sensor and a method for dynamically updating fingerprint information in the electronic device. An electronic device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a memory; a fingerprint sensor; a display module; and a processor, wherein the processor may be configured to: detect a specified trigger for checking fingerprint information stored in the memory; compare a degree of similarity between a plurality of pieces of fingerprint information stored in the memory on the basis of the specified trigger detection; determine at least one duplicate fingerprint group from among the plurality of pieces of fingerprint information on the basis of the comparison result; merge fingerprint images of the duplicate fingerprint group to generate integrated fingerprint information; and replace the fingerprint information of the duplicate fingerprint group with the integrated fingerprint information. Various embodiments are possible.
