The information providing method may comprise the steps of: identifying an expiration date on the basis of a first identification number corresponding to an item included in a first category; comparing the expiration date with a first period so as to determine whether to change the first category and the first identification number of the item to a second category and a second identification number; identifying order information of a user; identifying an item matched to the order information of the user from among items included in respective categories; and providing packing-related information for the matched item in consideration of a category.
