Abstract:
An electronic device comprising a communication module and at least one processor is disclosed. The least one processor may be configured to: obtain identification information of a controlled device by performing a search for a peripheral device; request authentication data of the controlled device corresponding to the identification information from a server; when the authentication data is not received from the server, perform a first registration procedure including operations for registering the controlled device with the server; and when the authentication data is received from the server, perform a second registration procedure including the remaining operations excluding at least one operation for obtaining the authentication data from among the operations included in the first registration procedure.
