Abstract:
Provided are an electronic device and an operation method of the electronic device, according to various embodiments. The electronic device comprises a communication circuit and a processor operatively connected to the communication circuit, wherein the processor is configured to: generate first configuration information related to scanning for discovering another cluster for cluster merging by a first external electronic device and the electronic device which are included in a cluster of neighbor awareness networking (NAN); control the communication circuit to transmit the first configuration information to the first external electronic device; control the communication circuit to perform, on the basis of the first configuration information, a scanning operation for discovering a signal broadcast by an external electronic device belonging to the other cluster; on the basis of discovering the other cluster, transmit, to the first external electronic device, information related to the other cluster; and perform a series of operations for merging into the other cluster, wherein the first configuration information may be configured such that a point in time at which the electronic device performs scanning is different from a point in time at which the first external electronic device performs scanning. Other various embodiments are possible.
