Abstract:
An electronic device. The electronic device comprises a metal shell and at least two sensing electrodes, wherein a window corresponding to each sensing electrode is provided on the metal shell, and the sensing electrodes are inlaid in the window and are insulated from the metal shell; and further comprises an insulating layer wrapped over the metal shell. The sensing electrodes are used for producing a variable electric capacity when the electronic device is held by a user. The electronic device further comprises a drive circuit and a processor, wherein the drive circuit is used for detecting the variable electric capacity produced by the sensing electrodes, and converting the variable electric capacity into an electric signal that can be processed by the processor; and the processor is used for determining a holding gesture for the electronic device according to the received electric signal sent by the drive circuit. In the technical solution, by means of providing at least two sensing electrodes in the metal shell to detect the position of the electronic device being held, the precision of detection is improved, and thus the effect of detection is improved.
